What's Next?

Now that you have the website up using Weebly, Wix, or Yola, you need to add relevant content. You need to think about what your website's purpose is in order to determine what content is relevant. As your self these questions:
  1. Was this site created to interact with parents or students?
  2. Who will be using this site more?
  3. What do I want my students to get from the site?
  4. What do I want to get from the website?

Content, Content, Content

The workshop for today's activities will revolve around choosing what content will go where on your site. Will you put homework and project deadlines on the home page? Will you place daily class updates on the home page? How will you separate your different subjects taught or grades taught on your site?

For the first half of the day, brainstorm the outline of the format of your website. Determine where your content will be placed and how your website visitors will navigate through your site.

For ideas, please check out some of these examples to help you design your content for your own site.

Feel free to locate your own examples of classroom websites to look for inspiration. Once you have an idea of how you want your site to be mapped out, begin creating the pages and navigation links on your site. By the end of today's workshop, you should have up to 3 navigation pages created.
